After a jar salad recipe break last week I’m happy to jump back in with another great recipe for you. I made these broccoli slaw jar salads this week and they were great for lunches but I also used it as a side for a dinner date, which was an excellent bonus! It’s so nice when you have things ready to go in the fridge so that meals can be easy and healthy.
This week I’m going to jump right into the recipe. I used this to make four jar salads so if you want to make more (or less) you can adjust it accordingly. If you are using a jar as a side with a meal, you can count on one jar being enough for about 4-6 people.
Recipe
The full printable recipe is below but for my tips and tricks to make it easy please read on. First, you need to prepare the dressing, which I like to make in my blender cup. Just throw everything in and shake it up! It’s very easy and if you have leftovers you can keep them in the fridge. Next up, I cut my boneless ham using an electric knife and throw it into a large bowl. You can also leave the ham out of this if you are using it as a side but I like to add it for the protein. Aldis has a great boneless turkey ham that is super lean and tastes wonderful in any ham dish. I use the bagged broccoli slaw to make this salad but you can definitely use fresh chopped broccoli too. The same goes for the bacon… I like the Aldi’s real bacon bags because it is so easy but you can definitely use regular bacon. These are just some tips to make it easy but the rest you can find below in this printable recipe.

It is really good! We enjoyed them very much last week!

Is that really 5 lbs ham?
Jill says
I like lots of ham 🙂 I’m sure you can use less. I like the little hams from Aldi’s I think you can use one for 3-4 Salads.

Hi Jill! Where do you buy your broccoli slaw? Aldi? Meijer? And is it labeled broccoli slaw? Brand? Any chance you could post a pic of your bag? From the pic of your jars, it looks like it’s cabbage and carrots and hopefully some broccoli in there! I’m hoping to try these this week, but I’ve never seen broccoli slaw. Thanks!!! Jan

Hey Jan, yes I try to make it easy so I buy a bagged broccoli slaw mix that is kind of like coleslaw from Meijer. Here is a link so you can see a photo because I don’t have any on hand but this exactly what I bought. I’ve also heard that Costco has it but I’m not positive because I don’t go there. Hope this helps and that you enjoy them! I LOVED them!
