If you eat at Applebees there is one thing on the menu pretty much EVERYONE has tried. It’s the Oriental Chicken Salad. If you haven’t had the salad you’ve had the wrap and when you order this you probably think you are making a pretty healthy choice.
Well, let’s just leave it at that thought of healthy and tell you that I have recreated this Applebee’s favorite in a Trim Healthy Mama (THM) Jar Salad form!
Of course, the BEST part of the Oriental Chicken Salad is the DRESSING! I used to work at Applebees and let me tell you I learned to always bring an extra dressing with that salad because EVERYONE always wanted more! Look no more I’ve tweaked a dressing to be THM friendly and taste like that fabulous sugar LOADED dressing. Oh, wait I forgot we aren’t talking about that.
Oriental Chicken Jar Salad
Jar Salads have been such a lifesaver for me when it comes to eating healthy. I usually make them up on Thursdays and I’m good to go for the week.
To make up this wonderful Oriental Chicken Jar Salad you start by making up a batch of the dressing. Then begin layering the ingredients into the jar. Start with the dressing, then the chicken (the chicken gets marinaded in the dressing), Sunflower seeds, almonds, coleslaw mix, and finally stuff full of shredded lettuce.

Oriental Jar Salad DRESSING
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Mayonaise
- 1/3 Cup Rice Wine Vinegar
- 1 t Sesame Oil
- 2 T Grey Poupon Mustard I've also used regular mustard
- 2 T Super Sweet If you aren't following THM you can use 2T Honey

Mix it all together and get ready to fall in love!

Oriental Chicken Jar Salad
Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup Oriental Salad dressing
- 1 Chicken Breast cooked and cut into bite size pieces
- 2 T Sesame Seeds
- 2 T Almonds chopped
- 1 Cup Coleslaw mix
- Shredded Lettuce Or any lettuce of your choice
Instructions

Fill your mason jar with 1/4 cup Oriental Salad dressing.

Dump in the cooked and cut up chicken, Seeds, and Chopped Almonds.

Fill the jar with about 1 cup of coleslaw mix.

Continue stuffing the jar very full of shredded lettuce or whatever your favorite lettuce is.
This will NOT disappoint
I promise this salad will not be disappointing. Last week I ate them so fast and wished I had made more than I did. Run RUN to the store and get these ingredients it’s so worth it. If you are following the THM eating plan this salad is a THM S meal. The Oriental Jar Salad is big and filling and it will quickly need to be added to my Top 10 Favorites. I can’t believe it took me this long to figure out this fabulous transformation.
