It’s a new year. I know goals are being set by everyone around you. Are you joining? I have definitely set some goals but not just for the new year. I started them to get through the holidays. Have you noticed if you are trying to eat healthy there are CONSTANTLY reasons to cheat. Every day…sometimes every hour. It’s crazy.
Excuses
- Rewarding myself: It’s naptime, it’s bedtime, everyone is fighting, husbands been plowing for days, you name it I think I deserve that brownie.
- Parties: I’m at a party and there is NOTHING I can have, so why not just give up.
- Good Days/Bad Days
- Birthdays/showers/weddings/special events
No matter where we turn or what we do there is a reason to cheat and I’m not saying they aren’t good reasons, but if we choose to cheat every time we are a mess. This New Year I’m going to try to NOT give into these excuses and I want to share some ideas I have to help make this resolution come true!
5 Tips to Stay on Your Healthy Eating Journey in 2018
- Plan Ahead: Going out to dinner, I’m going to take a look at the menu BEFORE I get there so I have a plan and won’t stray from it.
- Make something I can have: When going to someones house or to a party I’m going to make and bring things that I will be happy to eat.
- Meal planning: I’m going to make a plan each week and do some prepping to make sure I’m ready. When lunch rolls around I’m going to have jar salads prepped and ready. Dinner comes and I’ve got healthy Freezer meals ready to go!
- Snack Planning: I’m going to not only plan out my meals but also my snacks. This is a time when I stray because I don’t have something ready! Having Trim Healthy Mama THM snacks ready in the freezer or on the counter or even just planned out helps so much! Make that smoothie 10 minutes before the kids off the bus so I’m stocked and ready!
- Workouts: Nutrition is 80% of losing weight and 20% is working out. I LOVE to workout but I know that is not the case for everyone. I think nutrition is more of my focus in 2018 but I also took the time to plan out my week and workout times. This makes it easier for me to make sure I get this into my day. So get out that calendar and make a plan.
Planning
Obviously, planning is a huge huge part of success. You can do this you can stick to your plan. You can stop the excuses. You can find success. We can do this together!!
